Belarus, Qatar discussed wide range of bilateral issues
The sixth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Qatar took place in Doha, and the delegations were led by Belarus Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Shestakov and Secretary General of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Dr. Ahmad Al-Hammadi, Belarus’ Foreign Ministry reports

The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues.
Mr. Shestakov conveyed to the Prime Minister – Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, a message from Belarus’ Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik, which was devoted to the key issues of the development of bilateral relations. The message was gratefully accepted and covered in the Qatari media.
"The delegation heads discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, and the interest in intensifying the exchange of visits at the highest levels was highlighted. The parties stressed their mutual interest in holding the next meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the State of Qatar as soon as possible," the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported.
A common desire to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas was voiced. The parties also discussed possible ways to deepen trade, economic and investment interaction, develop a legal framework and encourage mutual travel of citizens, including the opening of direct and charter flights between Minsk and Doha. A substantive agreement on priority steps in bilateral liaisons was achieved.
