Belarus’ Prime Minister on 2024 results: growth in household income and exports

Belarus achieved the majority of its stated objectives, and the planning was good enough, said Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko when talking about the 2024 results to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA reports

“Talking about 2024 and our results, the important thing, I believe, is that we achieved the majority of our stated objectives, and the planning was good enough. We over-achieved when it comes to the GDP and many other parameters. It’s extremely important that inflation stayed within the planned values. Household income grew significantly more than planned: 9-10 percent, I think (there are no official numbers yet) against the projected 3 percent and change. That covers everything: pensions and so forth. The real wages are going to grow 13 percent, according to preliminary estimates,” elaborated the PM.

Mr. Golovchenko added, “Export also showed growth, good growth. This year is once again going to become record breaking for us: the first 10 months showed $2 billion extra already. That’s a nice number, considering all the hurdles we have to overcome and the pressure we are under; that’s solid growth. The reasons are, of course, the growth in physical volumes and the export diversification.”

Talking about the export plans for 2025, the PM said, “5 percent growth is the target.”
