Belarus’ President: Zelenskyy not so brave to strike at Russia with nuclear weapons
In an interview with VGTRK (All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company) journalist Olga Skabeeva, Belarus’ Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko said he does not believe in Volodymyr Zelenskyy's threats to develop nuclear weapons: nobody will allow him to do this – neither Russia, nor the West
“It is not just my opinion: it is a conviction based on facts. The West and Anglo-Saxons are most of all afraid of a nuclear conflict. They do not want this conflict. Americans may think that they will stay somewhere overseas, but it will be difficult for them to fight without Europe, including with the use of nuclear weapons. Therefore, it is necessary [for them] to involve Europe, but the latter is not simply stubbornly refusing: it is categorically against the use of nuclear weapons. Actually, Americans are afraid of this as well,” the President said.
According to the Head of State, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not be allowed to do this, so his wishes are useless. However, they are still needed to be taken into account.
“He will not develop [nuclear weapons], but he has a lot of friends in the Middle East and elsewhere. It is important to monitor and control the situation so that they do not bring him something bad that he is now ready to use against Russia,” the Belarusian leader said.
In this regard, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated, “It is now his turn to fight back. In 2020, he used to criticise me as President, and so on. Meanwhile, he has trapped in a situation like that – so he should explain to the people and the international community that he is not an expired president.”
As noted by the Belarusian leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is sometimes not as brave as some might think. “[He thinks] he can develop a nuclear bomb and even attack the Kremlin. Listen, he is not so brave as to press the nuclear button. Firstly, it is necessary to have some courage, and secondly, it is important to think about what will happen next. Well, he may press, but what will be the result? Will Russia collapse if he drops a dirty bomb even on Moscow? No, Russia will not die, but it will strike back so that Ukraine virtually disappears,” he explained.
The President of Belarus stressed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy should also keep this in mind, because he is not a stupid man. Most importantly, he is not brave enough to strike. “He loves a good life, and he has a place to live. You know that better than me. Therefore, he is afraid of losing it all," Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
