Belarus’ NOC President Viktor Lukashenko met with head of Children of Asia Committee
Viktor Lukashenko, the President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus, has met with Director General of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Vladimir Maksimov in Novokuznetsk – as reported in the NOC press service
Vladimir Maksimov stressed that the participation of the Belarusian team in the Children of Asia Games plays an important role.
“The arrival of your team in Kuzbass is of great interest to the fans, ordinary Siberians, who are very fond of your country. Many of our athletes simply fall in love with Belarus. The arrival of your delegation only strengthened our opinion that we did the right thing, and, I am sure, we still have joint projects,” the Director General of the Children of Asia Games International Committee told Viktor Lukashenko.
In turn, Viktor Lukashenko noted that full-fledged participation in the Children of Asia Games for young Belarusian athletes is a great experience and necessary practice.
“At this age, they decide for themselves in sports, and it is very important for them to perform at this level. If you see our teams in the Children of Asia projects further on, we will consider these proposals with pleasure,” he said.
The press service added that during the 2nd Children of Asia Winter International Sports Games the Belarusian delegation, headed by the President of the NOC, plans to visit a number of sports facilities and competitions with the participation of young domestic athletes.
