Belarus’ HTP, Brazil focus on IT industry and start-up ecosystem development
The development of IT education and start-up ecosystem, the working conditions of Belarus’ IT industry and other topics were discussed by representatives of the Hi-Tech Park at a meeting with the delegation of Brazil, sb.by reports with reference to the HTP press service
The Brazilian delegation was led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Bernard Jorg Leopold de Garcia Klingle. The meeting was also attended by Aziz Saliba, the Minas Gerais University Director for International Relations.
During the negotiations, Deputy Head of the HTP Supervisory Board Secretariat Kirill Zalessky reported on the HTP history, the legal conditions of the IT industry in Belarus, as well as the residents’ unique developments and competencies. Among the topics raised were the development of IT education and start-up ecosystem.
The diplomat noted the high quality of academic education in Belarus. “We have a lot to learn from you and your success story, and that's exactly what we are here for," he said.
In turn, Aziz Saliba provided information about the Federal University of Minas Gerais, noting that it is one of the oldest and largest higher education establishments in Brazil and ranks 10th among the best universities in Latin America. It has a techno-park and an innovation office, and strengthening co-operation with Belarusian universities is among its priorities. As a result of the negotiations, three co-operation agreements were signed: with Belarusian State University of Informatics ad Radio-electronics, the Belarusian State University and the Belarusian State Economic University.
Belarus and Brazil confirmed their readiness to expand and strengthen contacts in the field of IT, mutual participation in industry events for further development of co-operation.
