Belarus’ Foreign Minister arrived in Moscow on official visit
The visit of the Belarusian Foreign Minister will last until May 17th, and Sergei Aleinik's programme includes meetings with the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, the Speaker of the Federation Council, as well as talks with Russia’s Foreign Minister, the Belarusian diplomatic mission reports

Upon arrival in Moscow, Mr. Aleinik visited the Embassy of Belarus in Russia and held brief talks with the Ambassador and the envoys of the diplomatic mission on the planned official events. The Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, and to negotiate with the Speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
On May 17th, Mr. Aleinik plans to meet with his colleagues from the Russian Foreign Ministry. Together with Sergei Lavrov, he is expected to sign a joint statement on the common foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. As the Russian Foreign Ministry noted while announcing Mr. Aleinik’s visit, ‘special attention will be paid to the work on diplomatic support of integration processes in the Union State, CIS interstate interaction, co-operation in the implementation of the programmes of Russia’s chairmanship in the EAEU and Belarus’ in the CSTO’.
"The relations between Russia and Belarus, without exaggeration, can serve as a model for building equal and mutually beneficial interstate co-operation, and the level of interaction within the Union State is a guideline for other integration associations in the post-Soviet space," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
