Belarus’ dairy products first sold to Jordan via BUCE

The first transactions on the sale of 26 tonnes of skimmed milk powder and whey powder to the Kingdom of Jordan have been registered on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), sb.by reports with reference to the BUCE press service

According to the organisation, to start working on the stock exchange, the Jordanian company used the mechanism of targeted transactions, envisaging a simplified procedure for accreditation of a foreign buyer and a minimum exchange fee rate of Br1. Previously, residents of Jordan had not concluded transactions on BUCE.

“The Kingdom of Jordan has joined the list of countries in the Middle East that use the exchange platform to import Belarus-made goods. Today, alongside Jordan, these are Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Syria. In terms of the amount of transactions for nine months of 2024, the UAE and Lebanon are in the lead. At the same time, the dynamics are positive in both cases. Compared with January-September last year, the trade of the Emirati participants increased 96-fold in monetary terms while that of the Lebanese companies rose 1.5-fold. Based on the structure of exchange sales, domestic lumber and milk powder enjoy the greatest demand among the Middle Eastern companies, accounting for more than 70 percent of all transactions,” BUCE spokesperson Roman Yaniv noted.

As of October 1st, 2024, twenty-six business entities from the UAE, six from Lebanon, six from Egypt, five from Syria, three from Jordan, two from Iraq, one from Oman and one from Saudi Arabia were accredited at BUCE.
