Belarus, Cambodia discussed prospects for co-operation, with focus on agriculture, medicine, science

Belarus’ First Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Ogorodnikov held the fourth meeting of the joint Belarusian-Cambodian committee on trade and economic co-operation, sb.by reports with reference to the Industry Ministry

The Kingdom of Cambodia was represented at the meeting by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Trade, Tekret Kamrang.

Opening the meeting, the First Deputy Industry Minister expressed confidence that the work of the committee contributes to achieving high results in strengthening co-operation between the two states. "We attach great importance to the work of joint intergovernmental committees and consider them as an effective mechanism for maintaining a comprehensive partnership," he said.

It is reported that the parties stated the need to use the full potential of interaction and search for opportunities to expand business co-operation, open new mutually beneficial areas of economic liaisons. They also discussed the state and prospects of co-operation between Belarus and Cambodia, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, and exchanged views on a wide range of areas of interaction, including agriculture, medicine and science.

Following the talks, the parties signed the protocol of the joint Belarusian-Cambodian committee on trade and economic co-operation.
