BAA told how new car market had changed in October
In October 2023, official dealers sold 2,360 cars in Belarus – an increase of 478.7 percent over the year – according to information posted on the website of the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA)
At the same time, 2,058 passenger cars were sold in September, while in August this figure stood at 2,019.
Thus, the sales market for new cars increased by 478.7 percent compared to October 2022. Over the three quarters of this year the growth totalled 27.5 percent against to the same period a year earlier.
The Geely brand continues to be the leader in the Belarusian car market: 1,600 passenger cars were sold in October, accounting for almost 68 percent of the market share.
Moreover, the emergence of new Chinese brands significantly affects the Belarusian car market and in the near future will make it possible to transform it in favour of cars from China.
As BAA notes, the new car sales market continues to grow throughout the ten months of 2023, indicating both its high potential and further recovery. If the situation does not change, and new brands continue to come to our country, the market this year may reach 25,000 passenger cars.
