Andreichenko: there will be no revision of WWII history and results in Belarus
Belarus will never revise the history and results of the Great Patriotic War – as stated by Vladimir Andreichenko, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, during his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel
He reminded that on the initiative of deputies the Law On the Genocide of the Belarusian People was adopted in the country.
“This is the answer to the challenges that we see today from abroad. There will be no revision of history, results of the Great Patriotic War, rehabilitation of Nazis and their accomplices in the Republic of Belarus! I think this is a very important message, especially for young people, who should know what a great price this Victory was. Many generations of Belarusians gave their lives for Belarus to be a sovereign and independent country nowadays,” he underlined.
The head of the lower house of the Parliament emphasised, “Today is the time when attempts are being made to rewrite history, to undermine the role of the Soviet and the Belarusian people in the cause of victory in the Great Patriotic War. We cannot allow this; we must preserve historical memory.”
