Ambassador: Chinese Book Centre will promote spiritual integration between peoples of Belarus, China
The opening of the Chinese Book Centre in Belarus has become another achievement in co-operation between the two countries – as stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, Xie Xiaoyong, at today’s opening ceremony in the National Library of Belarus
“The Chinese Book Centre in Belarus is the 16th centre in the world, and it is another achievement of co-operation between the two countries. The Book Centre is a gift from the Chinese people to Belarusians. Geographically, several thousand kilometres separate China and Belarus, but the ties between our peoples have made them close friends. The development of Belarusian-Chinese relations requires support from humanitarian projects,” the diplomat said.
Xie Xiaoyong stressed that the initiative will promote spiritual integration between the peoples and strengthen relations between the countries. He added that the Chinese International Communication Group had donated about 1,000 books to the centre, and among them are books by Xi Jinping, literature on the history of the Chinese Communist Party, well-known versions of books on China’s cultural symbols and the modern Chinese language.
