Almost 2,000 participants of illegal actions detained in Almaty

Law enforcement officers detained almost 2,000 people in Almaty for participation in illegal actions, looting and other crimes – as reported by the information centre of the commandant’s office of Almaty, TASS reports

“In total, 1,925 participants of illegal actions, looting and other crimes were detained. 38 firearms and 1,486 ammunition were confiscated,” says the report.

The commandant’s office also reported that residential areas in two districts of the city – Bostandyksky and Turksibsky – were ‘cleaned up’. Moreover, over the past day, the call centre of the commandant’s office received 215 signals from citizens that required a prompt response.
