Chupris: Belarusian People’s Congress opens up opportunities for all Belarusians
The Belarusian People’s Congress opens up opportunities for all Belarusians – as stated by Olga Chupris, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration, BelTA reports
“The Belarusian People’s Congress can be regarded as a political and state body, or it can be viewed as a tool to satisfy one’s personal interests. After all, additional opportunities are being created for young people, the so-called social lifts,” noted Olga Chupris. “What does it look like? What opportunities do young people have now? These opportunities are really different, including participation in the work of state bodies. But this is an additional lift. One can be an elected delegate of the Belarusian People’s Congress. It will be possible to realise one’s own ambitions as a representative of the people via two tools: the institution of a deputy mandate and the institution of direct election, e.g., being a member of the public association. Youth will just receive such an opportunity and living somewhere in a village or in a small town, young people will have the opportunity to be a member of the Belarusian People’s Congress.”
The Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration is confident that this opens up great opportunities for the future. “This will enable to defend the interests of one’s own region, personal interests, the interests of the country as a whole, speak from the rostrum of the Belarusian People’s Congress,” she said. “I think if I had such an opportunity in my youth, I would try to use it.”
