WIPO to further support Belarus’ innovation policy
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Daren Tang, assured Belarus of continued support in implementation of its state innovation policy – as reported by the Permanent Mission of Belarus to the UN Office and Other International Organisations in Geneva following a meeting between Daren Tang and the Director General of the Belarusian National Intellectual Property Centre, Vladimir Ryabovolov

The meeting was held during the WIPO General Assembly held in Geneva from July 14th-22nd. Mr. Ryabovolov informed the WIPO Director General on the steps taken by Belarus to develop innovation and support invention, and strengthen the national intellectual property system. The sides also discussed ways to expand co-operation between Belarus and WIPO.
In a speech delivered at the WIPO General Assembly’s plenary session, the Belarusian delegation drew attention to a dangerous impact of unilateral coercive measures on the member states’ innovative potential and formation of a global intellectual property system for the benefit of all.
