Winter School for Chinese youngsters resumed its work at BSEU

The Winter School educational programme is taking place these days at the Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU) with the participation of young people from China

“In order to promote the BSEU brand of providing foreign citizens with an opportunity to determine their future and choose an interesting and demanded speciality, the Winter School resumed its work,” the university press service informed. “It opened its doors for nine youngsters representing the People’s Republic of China.”

The project is organised by the Educational and Methodological Department for Co-ordinating the Education of Foreign Citizens.

“The Winter School programme is designed for seven days,” the university noted. “It is quite rich in content and involves a variety of forms of work. The Chinese students, in particular, took part in a meeting with BSEU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Olga Morozevich and Head of the Educational and Methodological Department for Co-ordinating the Education of Foreign Citizens Yelena Kolyada, took a bus tour of Minsk, got acquainted with its history at the BSEU museum, visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, visited the Belarusian Automobile Works (MAZ), and also began to study the Russian language. In addition, the programme includes walking tours around the Belarusian capital, informative excursions to museums and enterprises, visits to Belarus’ castle complexes, tasting of Belarusian cuisine, as well as tea parties in the circle of new friends.”

Winter language schools for foreign students have been organised at the Belarusian State Economic University for a number of years. Not being a profile linguistic university, BSEU develops this direction of international co-operation, successfully develops and implements programmes of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
