Fico threatened to veto aid to Ukraine if gas transit issue not resolved
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said he would veto EU aid to Ukraine if negotiations on resuming gas transit through Ukrainian territory did not produce a result, RIA Novosti reports
"If Zelenskyy, for purely political reasons, decided to harm the entire European Union and to damage Slovakia because he thinks he is allowed to do anything, then I make a statement on behalf of the Slovak government: I will veto any assistance to Ukraine [from the EU] if there is any proposal on its allocation in the near future," the politician said.
Robert Fico explained that Slovakia would begin retaliatory measures against Kiev if it sees that negotiations on resuming gas transit through Ukrainian territory within 3-4 weeks lead to nothing.
