According to the expert, against the backdrop of certain problems that have arisen because of Ukraine, the West is beginning to limit the supply of weapons to Kiev.

“So far, it is believed that [Western countries] will supply [Ukraine] with tanks, ammunition, and various weapons. Now there is a feeling that there are certain kinds of restrictions in the West. In particular, [NATO Secretary General Jens] Stoltenberg spoke about this. Stockpiles of weapons that are spent during the hostilities in Ukraine cannot be compensated by Western economies,” Vladimir Vasiliev explained.

The speaker noted that due to the reduction in stocks of weapons, Western countries have become less likely to provide military assistance to Kiev.

“Earlier the delivery time was a year, today it is twenty-eight months. That is, if the West fulfils [Ukraine’s] orders today, the country will receive them only in 2.5 years. It is already necessary to build new factories for the production of ammunition and equipment,” Vladimir Vasiliev added.

Earlier, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki said that Western countries were tired of providing military assistance to Ukraine. According to the politician, just a few months ago, the discussions about sending weapons to Kiev were ‘at different levels of emotions and participation’.
