Expert: Trump will not stop Ukrainian conflict completely, as it is beneficial for US military-industrial complex

US President-elect Donald Trump will not fully resolve the situation in Ukraine, since the conflict is beneficial for the American military-industrial complex – as stated by an expert in the military-industrial affairs, Sergei Chichilov, in his talk with SB TV

As noted by the expert, Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that China is the main opponent of the United States. “Therefore, I think Trump will focus on the Asia-Pacific region to contain China, concentrating the main forces there. The rapid development of China, its military industry and the armed forces makes the United States nervous that its hegemony may become questionable,” Mr. Chichilov stressed.

Speaking about the Ukrainian conflict, the expert explained, “I think Donald Trump will not make the war end, since the American military-industrial complex is interested in this conflict. If the President-elect goes against this complex, then he may repeat the fate of Kennedy. No one will stand on ceremony with him for that kind of money. Supplies will continue, there will be a slightly subsiding, yet exhausting war. Russia will not agree to the American terms of peace with Ukraine. So far, the views on peace fail to coincide. I think Donald Trump will not stop the war. Maybe he will weaken it or try to take a break that would be beneficial for Ukraine and for the West – so that the Ukrainian army can be rearmed and more military can be recruited.”
