Video recording of government meetings introduced in Ukraine to combat Russian language

Local councils in Ukraine have begun to record their meetings on video as part of the implementation of the law On Ensuring Transparency of Local Government, which obliges officials and deputies to speak only the state Ukrainian language, TASS reports

According to the Glavkom publication, videos of local government meetings should be made public no later than the next day, and later they will be stored for five years. After the end of martial law, local councils will have to broadcast their meetings online.
