Union State’s sci-tech development strategy until 2035 approved at Supreme State Council meeting

The strategy of scientific and technological development of the Union State until 2035 has been approved today at a meeting of the Supreme State Council

The strategy is the basic document of strategic planning, ensuring the formation of a unified scientific and technological space. It is aimed at ensuring security, strengthening scientific and technological sovereignty, solving socio-political and socio-economic tasks, which includes conducting research, development, technological, production, organisational, economic and other work.

Belarus’ State Committee for Science and Technology and Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, together with interested government agencies, have been instructed to prepare and submit an action plan for the implementation of the strategy for its further approval by the Council of Ministers of the Union State.

A resolution has also been adopted on the establishment of the Union State Award for Young Scientists. This decision is aimed at supporting young talents of the Union State, stimulating their joint scientific and technical activities and participating in solving problems in the interests of further development of Belarus and Russia. The competent authorities have been instructed to develop and submit to the Union State’s Council of Ministers the necessary documents, including the regulations on the award, the procedure and amounts of financing.
