First EV charger producer from China used BUCE to sell products
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) made its first deal concerning purchase of components for EV charger stations directly from their Chinese producer. The buyer contracted goods worth Br893,000; the Chinese supplier registered at the exchange thanks to the efforts of the BUCE’s Shanghai office. The BUCE press service revealed the details to sb.by.
In particular, the press service pointed out that strengthening co-operation with high-tech companies from China falls under the array of measures aimed at developing industrial and consumer exchange trade between Belarus and China that started in mid-2024 and has been gaining steam since. The total value of equipment, parts, and components purchased in China via the exchange reached $1m in 2024.
“The electric vehicle infrastructure, including the EV charge station network, is now developing rapidly in Belarus. That requires relevant equipment purchases, while China is the global leader in that industry, as we all know. That’s why, in order to help Belarusian companies set up imports of charger stations and components from the PRC, a number of Chinese producers got trade accreditations. With support from the BUCE’s office in Shanghai, one of them made the deal,” BUCE spokesman Roman Yaniv said.
As of January 1st, 2025, 247 PRC resident companies, including 3 exchange brokers, were accredited at the BUCE. Deals made by Chinese traders in 2024 reached $133.3m in value, a 1.7 times' growth compared to 2023. The structure of the commodities sold was dominated by Belarusian timber products (95 percent of all sales).
