Turkish Ambassador: Brest-Antalya twinning links need new impetus
Belarusian Brest and Turkish Antalya are twin cities, and the twinning links of Brest and Antalya need a new impetus – as noted by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkiye to Belarus Güçlü Cem Işık, who is on a visit to Brest today
“Twinning has always been very important from the point of view of contacts, elimination of possible obstacles in building relations between the countries. It is important to properly manage the available opportunities,” the Ambassador noted during a meeting with Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Piotr Parkhomchik.
The Turkish diplomat emphasised that the Turkish and Belarusian peoples are true friends.
“Our nations and countries are friendly. I feel it from the first days of my stay in Belarus. The purpose of my trip to the Brest Region is to get acquainted with the region and study the possibilities for co-operation. It is hard to imagine some things until you see them in person. We need to develop liaisons across various fields. We still have a lot of work to do,” added Güçlü Cem Işık.
Today, the Turkish diplomat will be introduced to the production and products of the two largest enterprises in Brest: Savushkin Product and Santa Bremor. And in the near future he intends to visit the Brest Region with his family, including the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park.
Güçlü Cem Işık added that the number of tourists from Belarus in Turkiye grows every year, “You have a beautiful country. I would be glad if tourists from Turkiye came to Belarus. The development of tourism potential is also on the agenda.”
