Teksler: Belarus and Chelyabinsk Region do not compete, but complement each other

Belarus and Russia’s Chelyabinsk Region are not rivals in the market, but complement each other – as noted by Chelyabinsk Region Governor Teksler after his meeting with the President of Belarus

In particular, the Russian Governor said that during the meeting they agreed to implement a number of projects in machine building and agriculture, “We have a proposal to build a large livestock complex in the Chelyabinsk Region according to the project and using the equipment manufactured in Belarus. As part of the work of the delegation, contracts were signed for the supply of 300 tractors for the needs of agriculture and housing and communal services. We also talked about additional supplies of components for machine building. Although machine building is developed both in Belarus and in the Chelyabinsk Region, it so happened that we practically do not compete with each other. If we are talking about tractors, then we specialise primarily on caterpillar tractors, and if we are talking about vehicles, then our Ural vehicles do not compete with MAZs either, since they work in different directions.”

According to the Governor, the meeting also discussed the possibility of localising the production of caterpillar tractors for Belarus on the premises of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, “Aleksandr Lukashenko set the task to see how the competencies of caterpillar tractors, which we have developed, can be implemented in Belarus to solve major problems in agriculture. We can definitely complement each other here.”
