State Border Committee warns against inadmissibility of provocations on Ukraine-Belarus border
An increase in the group of Ukrainian armed formations, including special operations forces and special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, has been recently recorded in the area of responsibility of the Zhytomyr border guard detachment of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service. The Border Service of the Republic of Belarus is serving in an enhanced mode on the border with Ukraine an – together with the country’s Defence Ministry – reacts to changes in the situation, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ State Border Committee.
It is noted that various units, including those with heavy weapons, are concentrated in the adjacent territory: multi-purpose lightly-armoured transporters, infantry fighting vehicles, including American Bradley, HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, M777 howitzers, and German-made Cheetah anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, as well as other means of destruction.
The Border Service of the Republic of Belarus is serving in an enhanced mode on the border with Ukraine and – together with the Defence Ministry – responds to changes in the situation by increasing the density of the state border cover, including through the capabilities of manoeuvre groups equipped with modern weapons and military equipment in the southern direction. Additional measures are being taken to make a reconnaissance and control the state border regime.
Actions to ensure border security are carried out in close co-operation with units and formations of Belarus’ Armed Forces and are aimed at avoiding escalation of the situation on the border and preventing provocations. All of them will be immediately suppressed by national security actors.
