Belarus, Oman to launch industrial co-operation
In Oman, Belarus’ Ministry of Industry and the Omani Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion signed a memorandum of understanding in industrial co-operation
The document was signed by industry ministers of both governments: Aleksandr Yefimov and Qais Al Yousef.
The memorandum is a result of President Lukashenko’s working visit to Oman. Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov and Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt and Oman Sergei Terentiev both attended the ceremony.
The memorandum’s main goal is to lay the foundation for strengthening and expanding the bilateral industrial co-operation.
It states that the parties agree to promote joint investments in industrial projects, industrial goods supplies, strengthen co-operation in science and research, and develop new industries.
The document also envisions interactions when it comes to joint ventures and assembly factories.
The memorandum’s provisions include co-operation when it comes to setting up visits, attending international industry conferences and workshops, expert meetings and consultations on specific issues both parties are interested in.
“Signing the memorandum was an important step that opens great prospects for effective interactions between Belarus and Oman. Implementing it will enable us to pool our efforts in order to establish long-term, mutually profitable contacts. I firmly believe that industrial co-operation between our countries will boost economic growth in both Belarus and Oman,” Aleksandr Yefimov commented.
