State Border Committee reported discovery of two bodies of foreign citizens on the border with Lithuania

Belarusian border guards found the bodies of two foreign citizens under water in a ditch on the territory of the Braslav District, the State Border Committee reports in its Telegram channel

An investigative task team went to the scene, and investigators – with attraction of specialists from the Vitebsk branch of the State Forensic Examination Committee – conducted an inspection. One of the victims had documents of a Sri Lankan citizen.

Forensic medical examinations are to establish the exact cause of death. The State Border Committee noted that the Braslav District Department of the Investigative Committee will study the circumstances of the incident.

Last week, a border patrol found a refugee and a woman’s body next to him near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.
