State Border Committee: dead refugee found on border with Poland
On the evening of October 22nd, Belarusian border guards found a dead refugee in the Kamenets District near the Polish border fence, sb.by reports with reference to the Telegram channel of Belarus’ State Border Committee
According to the Belarusian border department, Polish border guards threw the man through the animal gate into Belarusian territory. Blood spots and hematomas were visible on his body.
“It is noteworthy that the Polish border guards were near the border fence at the time of finding the dead body,” the Belarusian border agency said.
As reported in the Investigative Committee, an investigation task group arrived at the scene and found that the man was without outerwear, shoes and documents. Investigators established that the deceased is a 43-year-old citizen of Bangladesh.
“The Investigative Committee of Belarus continues thorough documentation of the facts of illegal activity for further legal assessment,” the Investigative Committee added.
Poland’s migration policy has killed six refugees since January 2024. A total of 27 bodies of foreigners have been found on the border with Poland since 2021.
