Lukashenko told students what they have to do to join his team

Good education, professional excellence, and love for your country: those are the requirements if you want to join the President’s team. Aleksandr Lukashenko revealed them at his meeting with humanities students at the Minsk State Linguistic University on November 22nd.

Answering a question what one has to do to become a member of his team, the Belarusian leader said, “It’s pretty straightforward. You have to be a very capable person to win against Dmitry Krutoi, Head of the President Administration, or the Education Minister. And they are formidable men. I don’t subscribe to the approach that my team has to be like a clan.”

According to the President, he uses a single principle when appointing top officials.

“Are you a patriot and a capable person? Then go on and work! We made a mistake back in 2020: [some] looked capable, but there was chaos in their heads. They weren't patriots. It wasn’t Lukashenko they hated: they hated their own country,” he explained.

That’s why the Head of State has the following requirements for his team members, “You have to have good education, professional excellence, and love for your country. If you want to be Head of the President Administration, you have to win against Dmitry Krutoi. If you don’t, then you won’t be. Fair and square. You have to be hungry, you have to want, love, and be a professional."
