Sputnik V is one of world’s leaders in terms of the number of vaccinated people
The Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection Sputnik V was among the leaders among other drugs against COVID in terms of the number of vaccinated people worldwide, according to the international medical journal Nature, TASS reports
A press release from the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) reads, “The Russian Direct Investment Fund announces the publication on the website of the leading international medical journal Nature, according to which the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V is one of the world’s leaders in terms of the number of vaccinated.”
According to the medical publication, the world’s eight leading manufacturers of COVID-19 vaccines have produced more than 16 billion doses of vaccines, of which 13 billion were used to prevent SARS-CoV-2 and helped save more than 20 million lives.
The high safety and effectiveness of Sputnik V is proven by the results of over fifty clinical studies and data from the use of national vaccination programmes in various regions of the world, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Research on the Sputnik V vaccine has been published in leading international peer-reviewed medical journals: The Lancet, Nature, Vaccines, Cell Reports Medicine and others.
Sputnik V is approved in 71 countries with a total population of more than 4 billion people, and Sputnik Light is approved in more than 30 countries. Sputnik V and Sputnik Light are based on safe and proven human adenoviral vector technology for over 30 years and are not associated with serious adverse events such as myocarditis or pericarditis.
