Snopkov: Union State stability depends on trade-economic sphere
The trade-economic sphere plays a vital role, on which the stability of the Union State and the well-being of the peoples of Russia and Belarus directly depend – as noted by Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov during his meeting with Director General of Russian Export Centre Veronika Nikishina
“Today, within the framework of the Belarusian-Russian Union State construction, the trade-economic sphere plays a vital role, on which the stability of the Union State and the well-being of our countries and peoples directly depend. We appreciate your interest in expanding liaisons with Belarus across a wide range of issues. Today, the Head of State had a detailed conversation on almost all key aspects of bilateral co-operation.”
Nikolai Snopkov assured that the Belarusian Government will substantively review current projects with the participation of the Russian Export Centre and identify promising areas for expanding collaboration across various areas, “I’m confident that today’s meeting will enable us to find a solution to many problematic issues and will give additional impetus to our interaction. I hope that Belarusian exporters and bank managers will feel the positive results of our meeting in the very near future.”
In turn, Veronika Nikishina noted that the company has a number of interesting projects on which the Russian side would like to hear feedback in terms of priorities for the interests of Belarus. According to her, there are four distinct areas of bilateral interaction: the support of Russian non-resource energy exports in the interests of Belarusian consumers; the support of imports that are critically important for Russia; the support of joint exports to other countries; and financing investment projects in Belarus.
