Sergeyenko on inter-parliamentary relations with far arc countries
At a meeting of the House of Representatives' Council, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko spoke on the development of inter-parliamentary relations with the countries of the far arc, sb.by reports
In particular, the Speaker noted that the Belarusian delegation made an official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on October 19th-20th, “We participated in the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Interparliamentary Assembly on the theme: The Role of Parliaments in Enhancing Connectivity and Inclusive Growth of ASEAN. During the official visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. A memorandum of co-operation was also signed between the two countries’ parliaments. We’ve managed to discuss a number of issues related to the development of bilateral relations, including trade-economic liaisons between our countries. On the side-lines of these events, meetings were held with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Secretary General of the ASEAN IPA.”
“Recently, the Belarusian parliamentary delegation returned from the Republic of South Africa. This visit was very productive and actually marked the beginning of intensified co-operation with the Pan-African Parliament. A memorandum of co-operation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Pan-African Parliament has been signed,” the Chairman of the House of Representatives added.
