Senko at meeting with Kochanova noted high level of Belarus-China trade-economic co-operation
The decision to raise relations between Belarus and the People’s Republic of China to the level of a comprehensive and all-weather strategic partnership, adopted in September 2022 in Samarkand by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, gave a new step to the advancement of relations in the economy, parliamentary activities and many other areas of bilateral interaction
This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China Yuri Senko after his working meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova – as reported by the Council of the Republic’s press service.
“The decision of the leaders of our countries on regional collaboration has become very important. Our regions – the regions of the Republic of Belarus and the provinces of the People’s Republic of China – continue to sign bilateral agreements on partnership and twin city relations. In the development of such relations, bilateral co-operation programmes are being signed, which reflect different areas of activity: sports, tourism, economy, education, healthcare, and much more,” the diplomat stated.
Yuri Senko also noted the high level of trade-economic liaisons between the two countries at all regional levels, “Even the pandemic years were no exception to the fact that the growth of mutual trade between our countries is constantly growing. In 2022, China increased exports of Belarusian goods by $700m compared to 2021, which is a good result. 2023 is no exception either. For the past five months, we have registered a 163 percent increase in the volume of our Belarusian exports to China compared to 2022. We’re having very close co-operation with China in the areas of healthcare, sports, culture, agriculture and industry. Today, a number of projects are being created that will give good results in the very near future.”
