Russian Senator: we are prepared to promote Minsk as venue for discussions

We value the results of the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security and are prepared to promote Minsk as a new venue for discussions, said Grigory Karasin, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs (Russia), at the joint meeting of departmental commissions from the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council that took place today, November 13th, in Minsk

“We are working closely together within all organisations, including the CIS, the EAEU, the SCTO, and now BRICS and the SCO. It’s glaringly obvious now that the world has entered a period of fundamental geopolitical change and in-depth transformation of international relations intended to beget a more just world order. The shift to global multipolarity today is geopolitical reality,” Mr. Karasin said.

According to the Senator, the main trend now is that the global majority outside the collective West: countries from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, are making their voices heard.

“The global majority is now pushing for mutual concessions, diverse ways of development, respect for national, religious, cultural values,” he added.
