Rogozhnik: Belarus’ enterprises signed contracts worth hundreds of millions of US Dollars at INNOPROM trade fair
The INNOPROM International Trade Fair is traditionally peculiar for its focus on practical results – as stated by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik after the results of the Belarusian exposition at the international forum in Yekaterinburg, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian diplomatic mission’s press service
The Ambassador recalled that last year it was in Yekaterinburg that the idea of mass production of the Belarusian-Russian light aircraft originated. And today, the parties have already started designing a 19-seat twin-engine multipurpose aircraft Osvey.
“The agreements reached previously during the meeting of Belarus’ PM Roman Golovchenko with Russia’s Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuivashev on the participation of [Belarusian enterprises] in the modernisation of the Yekaterinburg tram fleet have been concretised on the sidelines of the exhibition. So far, we are talking about 50 tram trolleys out of 300; however, we consider them as a pilot project, and the prospects for scaling it to Russian regions are huge, especially taking into account the implementation of transport reform,” the embassy’s press service quotes Aleksandr Rogozhnik.
According to the Ambassador, the Belarusian industrial giant BELAZ has signed $200m of contracts for the supply of its machines to Russia, while Planar JSC has agreed to supply Russian partners with $150m of high-tech goods.
“Industrialists at the exhibition showed special interest in the machine tool industry competencies carefully preserved in Belarus. Russian partners understand that the tasks of modernisation and technical re-equipment of entire industries facing our countries can only be settled together,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik concluded.
