Prodi: Europe must realise that its potential should be used in the name of unification, not separation
Europe must realise that its potential must be used in the name of unification, not separation – as stated by Romano Prodi, the President of Fund for International Co-operation, the President of the European Commission in 1999-2004, the former Prime Minister of Italy (1996-1998, 2006-2008), during the 16th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Samarkand
“Europe was the first to think about developing rules common to the whole world, but it did not have the political will to do what it had in mind. I am sure that sooner or later we will come to the point where Europe must realise what its role is, and what its true potential is. It should be a unifying potential. This potential should not work for separation," Mr. Prodi addressed the forum participants online.
The politician added, “We should use the differences between us in order to create a common reality, common rules.”
