Political scientist explained why Germany is likely to fail to create second economic miracle
Germany has deprived itself of cheap resources from the East, necessary for the manufacture of high-tech products, so the second economic miracle in Germany may not happen – as noted by Gregor Spitzen, a political scientist and independent German journalist, in his talk with the Soloviev Live TV channel
The expert noted that the German government was talking about the second German economic miracle.
“It seems that the economic plan for the transformation of the German economy is ready. Even [German Chancellor Olaf] Scholz, along with German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, are talking about the potential for a second German economic miracle. True, it is not entirely clear what it will be based on. As far as the production of electric vehicles is concerned, an agreement with the United States regarding their export-import tax restrictions has not yet been reached,” said Gregor Spitzen.
The political scientist said that due to the lack of cheap resources from the East, Germany would not be able to follow the path of economic development that it had previously followed.
“As for what Germany has been earning for the last 40-45 years, it is on high-quality products, which were obtained from cheap energy and other material resources coming from the East. Now this economic model no longer works, because there are no cheap resources, and in general, relations with Russia leave much to be desired. Therefore, there is no supply of metals and other products, which were the basis for the production of high-tech German goods,” Gregor Spitzen concluded.
