Polish general called for mining borders with Belarus and Russia
Poland should mine its borders with Belarus and Russia – as noted by former Deputy Minister of National Defence of Poland, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, RIA Novosti reports
“The experience of the war in Ukraine shows that knowledge of how to build fortifications, defensive positions, and minefields to stop the enemy is relevant again. I believe the Polish and Lithuanian borders with Russia need to be strengthened and layered minefields placed now, in peacetime. In wartime, it may be too late to build fortifications in border areas. I’m convinced both Lithuania and Poland should begin building powerful fortifications,” Skrzypczak said in an interview with the Delfi portal.
The Polish general underlined that there is currently no threat of a full-scale war in Europe. “However, we need to prepare, create a military force consisting of well-armed and motivated soldiers. If we are strong, no war will start,” he added.
