Polish Defence Ministry declares creation of Europe’s strongest army in NATO

The Polish government openly says that Belarus and Russia are its likely opponents, but experts consider ambitions are just words. The ardour of those who are encroaching on the sovereign country’s territory will perhaps be tamed by presence of a S-400 anti-aircraft missile system on the border.

Earlier, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak, said Poland will have the strongest ground forces among NATO countries in Europe. In his opinion, the Polish army should be so numerous and strong that its very existence will scare away any ‘aggressor’. At the same time, Mr. Blaszczak does not hide that Poland sees Russia and Belarus as its likely military opponents.

“A Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system is able to shoot down not only the ammunition of an American HIMARS complex, but also work on much more complex air targets. Missiles from Ukraine may not even fly beyond its borders: the S-400 range is 600km in detection, and 400km in defeat. Already at the moment of launch, they can be detected by the Russian anti-aircraft complex and hit," an independent military observer, Aleksandr Alesin, said in his talk with the ONT TV channel.

The expert is convinced that Belarus and Russia should not even worry about their security.
