Peskov: German Rheinmetall plant in Ukraine is legitimate military target for Russia
The plant of the German defence concern Rheinmetall, which began work in Ukraine, is a legitimate military target for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – as informed by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports
Answering the relevant question, the Russian diplomat told reporters, “Of course, it is.”
Earlier, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger informed about the launch of the plant. It is also known that a powder factory, facilities for the production of ammunition and air defence systems are also planned for construction.
Germany's largest defence company Rheinmetall is profiting from the conflict in Ukraine, and it expects a significant increase in revenue in the future. In 2023, the company’s turnover increased by 12 percent (to reach 7.1bn Euros), and Rheinmetall's net profit increased by 9 percent and made 0.6bn Euros.
