Opinion: US will double-cross Europe in the same way it acted towards Ukraine
Shipments of liquefied natural gas from the United States to Europe increased by record 170 percent in two years. In her talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, the Director of the Mir TV and Radio Company representative office in Belarus and Chairperson of the Belarusian Women’s Union, Olga Shpilevskaya, explained what will happen to Europe when it fails to be able to pay the US bills.
“Judging by what is happening in Europe, they will not be able to pay such sums for liquefied natural gas to the United States for a long time. When their financial resources deplete, they will be simply double-crossed – in the same way as the US acted towards Ukraine. The United States no longer gives money to the latter, it has actually passed it on to Europe, noting that it is now the EU’s headache. “Take Russian assets and give them to Ukraine, finance it the way you want,” it said. Actually, Zelenskyy earlier used to go to the United States to ask for assistance, but now he goes to the Baltic States,” Ms. Shpilevskaya noted.
The expert added that Europe is likely to face consequences for non-payment of gas, “In fact, when Europe fails to find money to pay the US bills, we will observe the deepest crisis in Europe. It is already emerging, and we see that Europeans are already trying to react through a series of protest actions. This is just the beginning, and the Head of Belarus has spoken of this more than once.”
