Opinion: Lukashenko levelled the potential formed by the West against Belarus in shortest possible time
The decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus was correct, since they are a powerful tool for deterring hotheads – as stated by Colonel Andrei Bogodel, the Deputy Head of the Department for Educational and Scientific Work of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, in his talk with SB TV
Mr. Bogodel noted that, after the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, the republic has turned from a target into a state able to respond to aggression. “We will play our role in the region. We are already doing this. In the shortest possible time, the Head of State, as a wise politician, has levelled all the potential that the West had created, including against us. This was achieved with the right approach to the building of the armed forces and the development of weapons systems. Nuclear weapons are the strongest potential, which is aimed at deterring hotheads. It is not enough just to get a nuclear weapon, it needs to be competently integrated into the concept of defeating an enemy who can penetrate into our territory," he stressed.
The military official added that Belarus is able to ensure the safety of its citizens, “Pay attention [to our] new aircraft, modern missile systems, artillery systems… We have developed multiple rocket launchers, rocket troops, and we have provided for all this somewhere in advance. In the same way, intelligence and electronic warfare have been developed. All these aspects give us an important component that allows us to say that we will ensure the security of our state.”
