MP: if NATO had supported Ukraine, the alliance would have organised negotiations

The North Atlantic Alliance has never really supported Ukraine: if the military bloc had been on Kiev's side, it would have organised negotiations – as stated by a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Oleg Gaidukevich, in his talk with SB TV

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance has two fundamental tasks, one of which is to support Ukraine. The second allegedly aims at the prevention of escalation and transformation of the Ukrainian conflict into a full-scale war between Russia and NATO.

“These two statements are false. The fist lie is that they support Ukraine. NATO has never supported Kiev. If it had, they would have organised negotiations, because they know perfectly well that Ukraine could never defeat Russia, this is a fairy tale. The second statement that they do not want a full-scale war and escalation of the conflict is another lie. Since the USSR collapse in 1991, NATO has done everything for this escalation. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, we were promised that the alliance would not move to the east, that everything would be peaceful and calm. Russia, in fact, has never threatened anyone, but still that creeping expansion began. At first, NATO got into the Middle East, then moving to Africa, Europe and further to the post-Soviet space – coming to Ukraine. Therefore, all these statements are lies," Mr. Gaidukevich noted.

Meanwhile, as noted by the Belarusian MP, Jens Stoltenberg voiced one truth, “The only truth is that they do not want a full-scale war with Russia. They would want it if they could win. They do not want it for one simple reason: NATO will lose to Russia in this war. The West will simply be destroyed if a full-scale war starts. They know this, so they do not want this to happen. If the chance to win in direct escalation made at least 10 percent, the war would already be in full swing. NATO is a cowardly organisation, which attacks only the weak. They have not protected any country yet, and they will not protect Ukraine as well.”
