MP: Belarus, Kazakhstan enjoy significant potential to increase mutual trade
There is significant potential for increasing the volume of mutual trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan, even despite sanctions – as stated by the Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, Sergei Sivets, at a meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Co-operation of the Council of the Republic and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan
“In the current conditions, when the modern world order is being seriously tested, including in the field of maintaining peace and security, when some countries use unprecedented pressure and illegal sanctions against other states, only joint efforts of our countries will make it possible for us to defend national interests and the right to a progressive path of development, as well as to preserve sovereignty and independence. In this context, we advocate even closer and co-ordinated co-operation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as mutual support in international organisations,” Mr. Sivets said.
The MP stressed that Belarus is interested in further enhancing trade and economic liaisons with the Kazakh side, “Kazakhstan is among Belarus’ ten main partners, and it is second among the CIS countries. The distribution network of Belarusian enterprises in Kazakhstan includes more than 40 companies established with the involvement of Belarusian capital, as well as more than 170 entities of the dealer network. There are 55 enterprises with Kazakh capital operating in Belarus, and 1,054 companies with Belarusian participation are registered in Kazakhstan. So we can say that our co-operation is very close. We are ready to continue working in this direction.”
