Media: EU presidency to cost Lithuania over 140m Euros

Lithuania’s half-year presidency in the Council of the European Union in 2027 will cost Vilnius over 140m Euros, the country’s Ministry of Finance told the BNS news agency, TASS reports

“Preparations for this important event and the presidency itself will require 141m Euros, with funding of 16.3m Euros in 2025, 57.3m Euros in 2026 and 67.4m Euros in 2027 within this framework,” notes the BNS news agency.

About 300 events are expected to take place, 20 of which will be summits. The team responsible for the chairmanship will include almost 1.5 thousand civil servants.
