Manturov: Russia ready to expand co-operation with Belarus in civil aviation
Russia is ready to expand co-operation with Belarus in the field of civil aviation – as stated by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov during today’s meeting with President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko
He drew attention to the era of Belarus’ development as a nation with an aviation industry, “It is actively developing today, and not only with regard to the Osvey project. We are actively liaising with enterprises of civil aviation plants in Belarus for the production of components. This applies to the Il-76 and Tu-214 aircraft. I expect this trend to continue. We will expand both the range of aircraft and the number of components. You have very competent specialists, technological equipment and, most importantly, teams of people who are ready to implement these projects.”
Denis Manturov stressed that Belarus-Russia joint import substitution projects are aimed at strengthening our technological independence, with Russia earmarking over 100bn Russian Roubles for these purposes. The main focus is on the development of industrial sectors such as microelectronics, machine building, metallurgy, and chemistry.
“This will be a good contribution to our common treasury of the Union State in building up competencies and industrial potential,” Denis Manturov said.
