Lutsky on Belarus’ introduction of visa-free travel for Europeans: this testifies to our strength

Belarus’ introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of thirty-five European countries testifies to our strength – as stated by Chairman of the Board of the Second National TV Channel Igor Lutsky, a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, in his talk with Alfa Radio

Programme host Vadim Shepet noted that Belarus today can be called a centre of peace initiatives. In particular, he recalled the actions to de‑escalate the situation in the area of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border and the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of 35 European countries.

“The President of Belarus has always taken non-trivial steps, and the solution of the problem on our southern border proves that it is possible to negotiate,” Igor Lutsky stressed. “It’s possible to talk to anyone in order to have peace. A bad peace is better than war.”

Speaking about the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of European countries, the expert underlined that people will be able to come and see the real picture with their own eyes.

“This testifies to our strength. After all, anyone can come. But we’re not afraid of that. We are destroying this wall, while they are building it from their side. However, people will want to see, to find out the truth, and they will come for this. People will arrive and see the real situation. This is bad for the West, but good for us. They have fenced themselves off from us not only by the border, but also from the information point of view. Anyway, people will come and see for themselves,” Igor Lutsky added.
