Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Head of State stressed that much attention had been paid to trade, including with third countries, during the negotiations, “We proceeded from the mundane [affairs] during our negotiations, being guided by the needs of the Uzbek and Belarusian peoples – and neighbours, as well. As you know, the latter are God-given.”

The Belarusian leader said that he supports the policy of his Uzbek counterpart, who is trying to build human relations with his neighbours, including Afghanistan.

As regards the narrow-format talks, the President noted it had been a meeting of not just close friends, but brothers who understand each other very well.

“[We are ready to share] all we have, we are ready to help with high technology and do what you ask for. We are ready for this," Aleksandr Lukashenko assured his colleague and invited the President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to Belarus.
