Lukashenko: we’ll strengthen Shanghai spirit of SCO based on principles of mutual respect, equality and solidarity

Belarus will strengthen the Shanghai spirit of the SCO based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and solidarity – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at a meeting in the SCO Plus format of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Astana

“Belarus is very proud to have become a full member of the SCO, and we will strengthen the Shanghai spirit of the organisation based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and solidarity. Let me assure you that Belarus will always be guided by the humane principles preached by the organisation. Have absolutely no doubt that Minsk will take its rightful place among the capitals represented here,” the Head of State stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that Belarus has something to offer in specific areas of co-operation, “We have almost a decade of observer experience behind us, as well as stable political contacts and economic ties with all the SCO members. I invite you all to Minsk,” the Head of State noted, adding in the Belarusian language, “Dear friends, we’ll be happy to sincerely welcome you to hospitable Belarus!”
