Lukashenko signed decree pardoning 30 persons convicted of protest-related crimes

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a decree on August 16th, 2024 pardoning 30 people convicted of protest-related crimes, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

Among those pardoned are 14 women and 16 men, some of whom have serious illnesses. There are people of retirement age.

All of them admitted their guilt, sincerely repented of what they had done and committed themselves to a law-abiding lifestyle. The Interior Ministry will provide control over the fulfilment of such obligations following the order of the Head of State.

The signed act of pardon is actually a chance for these people to rehabilitate themselves before the state and society.
