Lukashenko reported by NOC President

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has been reported today by President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko, BelTA reports

The results of the participation of Belarusian athletes in the past major international competitions, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, were summed up, prospects for participation in the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics were discussed, and the issues of further development of high-performance sports in Belarus were high on the agenda of the meeting as well.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that, despite external pressure and various restrictions, Belarusian athletes showed the will to win and achieved high results. He noted the need to further strengthen co-operation in the field of physical culture and sports, primarily with Russia, the CIS and other friendly countries, in order to ensure the participation of athletes in major international competitions.

The Head of State drew special attention to the support of youth sports in the country. Work in this direction needs to be further improved. The participation of young Belarusian athletes in the Children of Asia and Children of Primorye Games was noted as a positive example in this regard.

A big conversation was announced for H1 2025, it will focus on the state of affairs in the sports industry as a whole.
